Summit County District Court Role
Summit County District Court is part of Colorado's 5th Judicial District, which also includes Clear Creek, Eagle, and Lake counties. Colorado district courts are trial courts that hear civil cases in any amount, domestic relations, felony criminal, juvenile, probate, and mental health cases. Appeals from District Court ordinarily go to the Colorado Court of Appeals, with some matters going directly to the Colorado Supreme Court.
The local court access point is the Summit County Justice Center, where Summit Combined Courts houses District Court and County Court operations. That combined-court model means a visitor may use the same courthouse and clerk contact for several case types, but the legal venue still matters. Felony charges, divorce, probate estates, juvenile, mental health, and civil cases beyond county-court scope are District Court matters.

Summit County District Court Table
Summit County does not have multiple numbered district court locations in the research. The local District Court is part of Summit Combined Courts at the Justice Center. County Court is housed there too, while municipal courts operate through town-specific channels. The table keeps the required court inventory local and avoids inventing numbered divisions that the research did not support.

District Court vs County Municipal Court
The jurisdiction split is especially important in Summit County because many residents and visitors receive tickets or summonses from town police, the sheriff, or state-level channels. A Frisco ticket may be municipal if it was issued by Frisco Police Department, but the town tells users that a citation showing Summit County Justice Center is a State of Colorado citation with appearances in Breckenridge. Silverthorne/Dillon/Keystone Municipal Court also distinguishes municipal events from Summit County and District Court matters.

Search Summit County District Records
The Colorado Judicial Branch docket search can be filtered to Summit County, the 5th Judicial District, District Court, and a case class such as CR, DR, PR, CV, or JV. The docket is a hearing and case-status tool. It can show dates, times, party names, case numbers, hearing types, location, appearance type, and courtroom, but it does not provide downloadable pleadings or certified orders.
For copies, use the electronic court Record/Document Request Form or the Summit Combined Courts PDF form. The form categories include family matters, criminal matters, civil matters, probate, other documents, ROA, and certified or exemplified requests. The court page says not to send money until asked because court staff will contact the requester once the request is processed. Summit County District Probate
Probate is part of Summit County District Court. Estate, guardianship, conservatorship, wills, letters, claims, and closing documents do not go to a separate local probate court. The court record request form includes Probate as a case type and lists probate document options. A docket search can be filtered by PR for hearing dates, but probate records may require identification and clerk review.
Small personal-property estates may avoid a court filing if JDF 999 conditions are met, but that affidavit is not valid for real estate. Federal Court Is Separate
Federal court images appear in the district-court manifest, but they are not local Summit County District Court systems. They are useful only as a boundary marker. Summit County District Court handles state trial matters. Federal district, bankruptcy, and federal criminal or civil rights cases belong to federal courts for Colorado and use PACER or CM/ECF rather than the Summit Combined Courts clerk.

Justice Center Campus Services
The Summit County Justice Center also connects court users with detention and court security functions. The sheriff's detention materials list the detention facility at the same North Park Avenue campus, and Detention Services assists with court security, transports, and court appearances. Those functions can affect criminal case logistics, but they are not District Court record portals.

The official court page also links online payments, dockets, ADA accommodations, interpreter services, and self-help resources.
